Meet Philip L. Rice, MD, FACS, FACC, FCCP, RPVI
Philip L. Rice, MD, FACS, FACC, FCCP, RPVI, is certified by the American Boards of Surgery and Thoracic Surgery. He was the first surgeon and only board certified thoracic and cardiovascular surgeon in the region to perform minimally invasive vascular procedures including endovascular aneurysm stent procedures, EVAR and TEVAR. He established the first minimally invasive varicose vein treatment program. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, American College of Chest Physicians, American College of Cardiology, American College of Angiology, and the International College of Surgeons. Dr. Rice is a member of the Pennsylvania Medical Society, Society of Thoracic Surgeons, and is a lifetime member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Rice is the only cardiovascular and thoracic in the area credentialed by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography, ARDMS, as a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation, RPVI. He is Medical Director of the only full service ICAVL accredited Vascular Laboratory in the area. Dr. Rice has 30 years of surgical experience in Cardiac, Vascular, Endo Vascular, and Thoracic Surgery, as well as Vascular Laboratory Diagnosis. He is on the active Medical Staff of Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College, PA, Lewistown Hospital in Lewistown, PA, and Altoona Hospital, Center for Medicine in Altoona, PA.
