A collaborative relationship between Commonwealth Surgical Services, Inc. and Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery of Altoona provides for all levels of comprehensive Cardio-Thoracic and Vascular Care. These services include Coronary Bypass Surgery, Aortic, Mitral, Tricuspid, and Pulmonary valve Repair and Replacement, Surgery for Atrial Fibrillation, Cox Maze and Mini-Maze techniques, Thoracic Aneurysm Repair, TEVAR, Thoraco-abdominal Aneurysm Repair, and Aortic Arch Repair and Replacement. If your condition requires additional services not available at Lewistown Hospital your procedure can be performed by Dr. Rice at Altoona Hospital. Endovascular Surgical care for persons living in Mifflin, Centre, Huntingdon, Juniata, and Snyder Counties in Pennsylvania. We focus on advanced minimally invasive procedures and when necessary standard open surgical procedures are offered. These services are provided at Lewistown Hospital in Lewistown, Pennsylvania. We are the only service in the five county region offering VNUS thermal Ablation for Varicose Vein disease, EVAR for minimally invasive repair of abdominal aneurysms, and ultrasonic thrombolysis for deep vein thrombosis. Dr. Rice is the only physician in the region who holds the RPVI designation from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
