Philip L. Rice, MD, FACS, FACC, FCCP, RPVI Welcomes You!

Thank you for visiting our web home. We provide quality Cardiothoracic, Vascular, and Endovascular Surgical care for persons living in Centre, Mifflin, Huntingdon, Juniata, Snyder and the surrounding Counties in Central Pennsylvania. Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College, Pennsylvania is at the center of the region. For over 10 years we have offered minimally invasive treatment of Peripheral Artery Disease, PAD, using balloon and stent treatments. We performed the first aneurysm stent procedures, EVAR and TEVAR, in the region. We were the first to perform minimally invasive treatment of varicose vein disease using ablation techniques. We developed the first and only ICAVL full service accredited non-invasive vascular lab in the area. UCVA continues to grow thanks to the patients we serve.
Our emphasis is on quality and personal communication between the physician, the patient, and the family. We believe healthcare is a privilege and that the physician and patient can work together to achieve quality health for the patient. We believe patients should be informed about their care, and the risk, benefit, and alternatives to the care provided. If we fall short of these standards please let us know.
